Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join their Compliance Department. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role is crucial in ensuring that the institution operates within the bounds of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards, safeguarding the organization's reputation and integrity.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the institution's operations adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
Review and update policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulatory requirements.
Provide training and raise awareness among staff regarding their compliance obligations and responsibilities.
Act as the primary liaison between the institution and regulatory authorities, managing day-to-day inquiries and handling self-assessments and surveys requested by regulators.
Advise on and manage internal compliance inquiries related to daily operations and the introduction of new products.
Handle licensing matters with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
Requirements:
Degree holder in Law, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Strong knowledge of both Hong Kong and U.S. compliance regulations.
Minimum of 15 years of legal and compliance experience in financial institutions; experience with securities firms is advantageous.
Deep understanding of commercial banking and/or structured products.
Excellent team player with strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
High integrity and strong commercial acumen.
Ability to work under pressure with keen attention to detail.
